Project 52: Week 9

I like night shots with out-of-focus lights in them so I finally decided to attempt to get a shot like this for my Project 52.

Did I mention that taking self portraits is a big mess???  Because it is, it takes 25 times longer to get the shot you want…especially in the dark when you don’t have an auto focus assist lamp on your DSLR! haha

Project 52: Week 8

Spring has arrived and that meant it was time for my wife and I to go to Home Depot and buy all of our landscaping needs.  We added new bark to our yard and we totally underestimated how many bags we would need.  Because of that, we had to make multiple trips back to the store and pack more bags into our car.  We worked for two days straight and then we were sore for two days straight.  It was a lot of work but fun at the same time.

Project 52: Week 7

Mustache March is over now but before it ended I decided to sport the stash.  This was my first time participating in the annual tradition and it may become a reoccurring thing haha jk, I shaved it off soon after…doesn’t suit me well lol.

Project 52: Week 6

Going in the spa was nice, even though it was at 98 degrees it still felt like it wasn’t warm enough.  Next time I need to make sure it’s around 103 , it makes a difference lol.  The splashing was spur of the moment.

Project 52: Week 5

This week’s photo captures how Jesus is the light in a world of darkness. There is darkness all around and in many directions.  One way may seem as if it’s the road to complete happiness but it ends up in disappointment.  When you see the light you know where to go, you follow it because there is no other way that is clear to you.  In our lives when we don’t know what to do or where to go, look to the light (Jesus) and follow him and he will lead you to paths of righteousness.  Seek him and you will find him.  This is something Christians, including myself, need to remember ALWAYS.  Not once a week, or once a month, but continuously. Thank you for reading my blog post and I pray for those who are not Christian, that you would accept Jesus as your Savior, follow him, and experience his never-ending love for you.  God Bless.  ><>

“Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world.  Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” – John 8:12

Project 52: Week 4

I had just finished a studio portrait session on Saturday for Matthew, the son of some good friends of mine. Realizing I had to get a picture for my week 4 photo, I thought of an idea and went with it. I decided to test my strength and time my pose…I got the shot but at the sake of some wrist pain lol. After attempting this pose multiple times, I gained more and more respect for break dancers haha.

Isaiah Garcia’s 6 Month Old Portraits

I had the honor of photographing Isaiah Garcia. He is the son of Nina and Bobby Garcia who are friends of ours and they go to the Church Carmen and I attend, Metro Calvary in Roseville. I got to know Bobby while attending Metro Calvary and we played on a recreational basketball team together which was really fun. He won’t admit to it but he’s got some mad basketball skills lol. Isaiah is such a cute kid that I knew the portraits of him were going to come out great! I had Nina and Bobby meet me at our house so we can take the pictures in my new in-home studio which I was very excited to finally use on an official photo shoot. We all had a great time and Isaiah did very well. I hope you all enjoy the portraits!
